The Standard of Excellence for the Black Rex is:
Fur: To be approximately 1/2 inch 1.27 cm in length. Fine silky texture free from harshness and wooliness, intensely dense, smooth and level over the whole body; of a lustrous sheen, firm and plush like character, devoid of projecting guard hairs.
Type: Well proportioned and graceful carriage, the body sloping gently up to well rounded quarters set on strong hind legs, medium bone. Head bold and broad, ears erect and to be in proportion to body, dewlap should not be excessive, eyes and toenails should preferably match the body colour.
Weight: The ideal weight for a Standard Rex to be 6-8lbs. 2.72-3.62 kg. there is no weight disqualification for any age Standard Rex rabbit.
Colour: A rich lustrous blue-black, dark blue undercolour, carried down to the skin, brown tinge is a fault. White toenails a serious fault. Any deformity a disqualification.

The Black Mini Rex is intended to be as the Standard Rex in every way possible except in size.
Which shall be approximately half that of the Standard Rex.
Weight: Adults to weigh between 3.3/4-4.1/2 lbs. 1.700-2.041kg
Under 5 months to weigh up to 3.3/4 lbs. 1.700 kgs
Faults: As for Standard Rex.
Disqualifications: As for Standard Rex but with the following additions, weights outside the limits and any rabbit with Netherland Dwarf features. |
